I was just sitting here thinking about the first time I saw Yeah Right. It was 1999 in Beloit, Wisconsin at the Beloit River Fest. It was the first time I had ever been there. My friend and I went kind of on a last minute decision. I remember walking into the River Fest and the very first stage was right at the entrance we went into. That's where Yeah Right was playing. We only caught the last few songs. One of the things that stick out in my mind (and my friend and I still laugh about this to this day) was I remember they must've been playing Burn and the word "fuck" is said quite a few times during the song and here are all these families and little kids standing there listening to this. LoL! I just found that very funny. Anyways, I'm standing there watching and listening to them play and they were very different from anything I had ever heard or seen up to that point. As a matter of fact, I thought they were all women at first! Lmao! There was some guy walking around selling their cd's and my friend bought one ("New Era"). Well the next day I go over to my friend's house and we listened to their cd and for about 2 months afterwards we listened to that cd non-stop. I finally had to buy both "Freak" and "New Era." I can honestly say I always have at least one Yeah Right or Alone cd in my stereo at all times. I've seen Yeah Right and Alone live about five times. And each time they were always so cool to my friends and I. It's weird, it doesn't seem like it's been 7 years since I first saw them. I can remember it like it was yesterday. And if my friend hadn't spent that $10 for the "New Era" cd I probably wouldn't have ever heard their music again. That's a scary thought. LoL!
