Well it's that time again, just like clock work. My current webhost is back to his old tricks of not answering e-mails and leaving people who need to renew their accounts without any help. There are currently talks that Mr. X will be shutting down the webhost altogether soon.
My account expires next month but I've decided enough is enough. I am moving to a new webhost. I've been in talks with them and I made the decision that this new place is where I need to be. It's time for a new start elsewhere.
One bad thing is I will probably lose my domain name that I have with Mr. X. I pay for it but it's under his name and if he shuts down I have no clue what his plans are with all the domain names he has. I'm not going to even bother asking him. So this means Dreamland's url will be a little longer than normal. But it shouldn't be too bad. I'm hoping to get the account set up sometime next week (maybe 2 at the most ... hopefully). I'm excited about a new home for Dreamland but a little nervous as well. I've been with Mr. X's webhost since 2003. I consider myself a very loyal person. I don't want to move but I just can not handle his incompetence any longer. If by some miracle he decides to leave the webhost up, I will stay. But I am moving to a new host regardless. I think it's a smart thing to do.
Dreamland will live on in one way or another. Even if it was just this board. I haven't decided on the fate of Rinat Central. Don't know if it's really worth rebuilding it.
Hopefully I will be posting Dreamland's new url here soon.
